Ingredients:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 ½ tsp baking
powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup cold butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
Directions:

Line rimless baking sheet with parchment
paper or grease, set aside.

In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder,
baking soda, and salt. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until
coarse crumbs, in a small bowl whisk butter and milk with egg, add flour
mixture and stir with fork to make soft dough.
3.
With lightly floured hands press dough into a
ball. On a lightly floured surface knead gently (about 10 times). Pat into ¾ inches
(2 cm) thick round. Using a 2 ½ inch (6 cm) round cutter cut out rounds. Place
on prepared baking sheet.
4.
Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes.
