Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup lukewarm water
2 tsp dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp white sugar
Filling:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp chopped walnuts
1 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, add lukewarm water, white sugar, yeast, salt and vegetable oil, stir well.
- Add flour and mix with a rice scoop or by hand.
- Let the dough rise. Let it sit with lid closed at room temperature for 1 hour.
- After an hour, dough will rise to double its size. Knead it to remove any gas bubbles in the dough.
- Let it rise for another 10-20 minutes.
- For the filling mix brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Knead the dough again to release the gas bubbles again.
- Spread some flour on the cutting board and your hand. Place the dough on the board and knead it. Then cut into 8 equal sized balls.
- Take one dough ball, flatten it and put some filling in to center of the dough and then seal it to make a ball. If it is sticky ad some flour on it and your hands.
- Heat up the non-stick pan over medium heat and add some vegetable oil.
- Place 1 ball on the pan and let cook for 30 seconds. Once the bottom side is light golden brown turn over to other side and press down with a spatula to make a thin wide circle.
- Cook for about a minute until bottom is golden brown. Turn over again and turn the heat down to low.
- Place lid on pan and cook for 1 more minute. The brown sugar filling should be melted like syrup. Serve warm.
